At Four Paws Pet Sitting Service, we take pride in the high quality of our pet sitters. Each sitter is carefully screened during the hiring process, so you can rest assured that your pet’s caretaker
- is very attentive to the needs of your pet;
- is an animal lover and has pets of his/her own;
- has had an extensive background check before hire (and then another a year after hire);
- is mature and responsible.
Our team of more than 20 sitters allows full coverage throughout Wake County. This, in addition to our careful selection, allows us to provide you and your pet with the best service available!
Lois Kelly, owner of Four Paws, has worked as a veterinary technician and is current on first aid and CPR training. Thoughout her life,she’s had dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, guinea pigs, gerbils, fish, ferrets, turtles, iguanas, and even a goat have been her pets - so to say she’s an animal lover is an understatement!
Lois started Four Paws Pet Sitting Services back in 2004 because she saw a need for excellent pet care in the home. She knew it was best for a pet to stay in their own home, getting lots of love and being stress free vs. going to a kennel.

Harold Kelly, co-owner, was born and raised right here in Raleigh! When he was 12, he got his first job working in an animal boarding and training facility… and loved it so much that he worked there until he was 21. He graduated from NCSU in civil engineering. Harold does a lot of the “behind the scenes” work at Four Paws to fully complement Lois’ day-to-day management and efforts
Erin Ortiz, is manager at Four Paws, and provides administrative management for the company, including scheduling, follow-up calls, as well as working full time as a sitter too. She was a pet groomer before joining the company and has always been enamored with animals. She really loves that the pets she visits are always happy to see her! Erin finds it very fulfilling that she can help families have peace of mind while they’re on vacation or at work. Erin recently graduated from Meredith College earning her degree in Child Development. Erin enjoys travelling to Florida to see her family and in her spare time enjoys going to the movies and spends time with her friends and fiance.
